Menopause Care and Sexual Health

Menopause is a physiologic transition that can affect hormonal balance, sexual function, pelvic floor health, bladder symptoms, sleep, and overall quality of life. At New Jersey Urogyn, we offer a concierge menopause care program that includes hormone management and sexual health care, delivered with time, continuity, and individualized attention.

Scope of Care

  • Our menopause program addresses a range of concerns, including:
  • Hormonal changes across perimenopause and menopause
  • Vasomotor symptoms and sleep disruption
  • Sexual function and pelvic floor health
  • Genitourinary syndrome of menopause
  • Care plans are individualized and may evolve over time.

Hormone Therapy

Hormone therapy is one component of menopause care.

When clinically appropriate, treatment may include estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone for women. Systemic therapies are prescribed selectively, monitored longitudinally, and adjusted based on symptoms and clinical response. Compounded formulations are used when appropriate.

Sexual & Pelvic Health

Menopause-related changes frequently involve sexual function, including changes in desire, as well as pelvic floor health.
Evaluation may include hormonal, vaginal, neuromuscular, and bladder-related contributors.
Treatment plans may incorporate hormonal and non-hormonal approaches, depending on individual needs.

Model of Care

This is a concierge, membership-based program designed to allow longer visits, ongoing follow-up, and direct access to menopause-certified clinicians. Care is delivered by menopause-certified nurse practitioners (NCMP) within a physician-directed program, implemented across multiple New Jersey Urogyn locations.

A clinician who is NCMP-certified has:

  • Completed advanced education in menopause and midlife women’s health
  • Passed a comprehensive certification exam
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Menopause physiology
  • Hormone therapy (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone)
  • Non-hormonal menopause treatments
  • Sexual health in midlife
  • Bone, cardiovascular, and genitourinary health
  • The certification requires ongoing education to remain current with evolving clinical guidance and research.
